I have shifting problems when I first start my car in the morning or so...

I don't have problems shifting itself but it just shifts alittle hard before it warms up. Could this be because I should change my tranny fluid?

Thanks for the help.

absolutly. Put some Redline MTL or Silkolene Silktran in there and it'll feel like a new gearbox.

I have the exact same problem......so you mean I don't need a new transmission? It's been this way ever since I got it in July, and possible wayyyy before then. Bad thing?

Getrag transmissions are known to be slow to shift until the fluid is warm.

Putting in a synthetic fluid gives a load gear whine.

If you want to hear it whine use Redline.

PS: Do a Google search on " gear whine "

nonono, this is not a "slow shift" this is an "only superman could get into second" shift. Something is up...gear whine won't bug me...a shitty transmission will, though. Will redline make my transmission mechanically better?

I have driven over a million miles with Getrag transmissions.

My old e30 did the same thing, and I'd have to agree with KC Ron Carter that it only does this when the fluid is very cold.

my tranny is old and tired, I alos have them same problem. I also have to double clutch, otherwise I'll be grinding gears.

Same problem here aswell, looks like my nice E30 will get treated to redline sometime soon.

redline is crap, just run a good quality conventional gear oil. i'm using kendall 80w90 right now, that stuff is stout.
