Trying to get out of a fast car that gets me in trouble,
You guys sound just like the M3 owner who lost $200 beacause he swore he was the shit.
14.1 off the lot before the Stage 1 upgrade
Go ahead and keep calling it a neon, like I have never heard of that one before.

SRT-4's are cool little cars, I doubt anybody will trade straight up for an srt-4 though on a 330 the retail prices are nearly $20k apart....and while the SRT-4 is very tunable, it lacks the creature comforts of a 330 or any bmw for that matter......you may want to add in + cash with your ad

neon...fast, fun , no luxury ammenities, and unreliable. American cars suck, especially from chrysler. Wait about 27,000 more miles and you'll be replacing just about everything to keep that car running. Guarantee it.

Oh yeah there is no doubt about adding cash to the deal, Even if you are selling your car and are not interested in the SRT-4 LMK I have 2 people that want to buy my car so it is not a big deal.

There is no need to bash the car, I accept that it is a neon. And if you have ever raced one you will know that it is a little faster than a neon.

damn you guys are all dicks. The SRT-4 is an AWESOME car with tons of power and affordable price. Not nice to bash on other people's rides especially when they don't deserve it. TurboSrt4 I hope you don't think all BMW owners are like this. There are alot of dumb, ignorant, cocky bmw owners out there and alot of honest bmw car guys also. Good luck on your sale.

I give the SRT-4 a thumbs up, you get what you pay for, 20K for a srt-4 with power that matches a S52 engine is pretty nice deal!! , and as WhiteM32 said, it's the comfort level that you miss for paying less in a Neon...

Don't listen to the haters man -- the srt-4 is an awesome car.
It's not like you asked for something unreasonable -- your car is still worth 15-16k -- a '99 325 is worth less than that.

Not too mention my uncle has a dealers license and can goto the auction which gives you access to cars 20-40% off retail? And look up the book value for a 95 m3. around 10 or so take off 2-4k what do you have? Thank you :embarrasm

First I don't think it is easy (but it's possible) to find a M3 at dealer auctions, may be 3-series but not M3..
Second,, lots of factors affect the price, the condition of the car, how desparate the seller wants to sell his car before they take his house..lots of things...
Just keep your eyes open on the board here and you will find a good deal...
you are not too far from a nice M or M3,, you could even get a loan for $4 or $5K and add it up to what you have, get a nice M3 with low mileage.. :cool

Auto, torn to shift? It looked flawless to me in the pictures and it was a manual... And why am I asking the board for a car? More options you can never have enough of them you never know when a good deal could pop up.

You sound like the type of person buying the bmw so you can drive around with the badge.

Hate to break it to you but 9k is nothing. You talk like its something. A teenager can make about 9k in a year working part time at a mcdonalds. Congrats youve managed to accomplish what almost every other teenager has.

The only m3 youll find for 9k is one thats salvage, auto with 150k+, in bad cosmetic shape, or is mechanically fucked up and the owner want to sell it to some retarded teenager.

When you post your nonsense your just making yourself sound even worse. If you have 9k and are cramming for an m3, its never going to happen. Your insurance will be 4k minimum. Just by your nonsense posting I can tell you cant repair a car, so ya get a 150k m3 and have fun sunny. Gas, tires, brakes, suspension, have fun with it.

I can't repair a car but yet my dads a mechanic and does body work and I work part time at his shop yup... And as I said before theres this thing called the auction, you get cars 40% cheaper so an m3 that was 13k is now 9750... You're related to einstein arn't you?

My dad has a dealer's license and I've been to the auctions. Manheim high-line auction in Riverside to be exact. I'm sorry to break it to you, but you're not going to find a car for 40% cheaper than retail at an auction. Especially an E36 M3, the cheapest a 5 speed in decent condition, even with high miles is going to be at least 11k not $9750. In most cases you'll probably find a car for about 5-10% cheaper than you could buy one from a private party for.

Edit: Maybe this thread should be locked, it's gotten a bit too far off topic and I'll admit I'm partially to blame for that. :devillook

Being an SRT-4 owner myself, I know that there's the ups and downs. I personally have had problems with my car, that were covered 100% under warranty and I haven't had to deal with them since. Now my Bmw is "unreliable" compared to my Isuzu rodeo all I do is change the oil and put gas in it

If you cant even calculate 40% of 13k I dont know how you expect to work on an m3, einstein. If I asked you anything about fixing the usuals on an m3 youd have no clue wtf im talking about. I think you should buy another prelude because you dont belong here.

Working on a honda is more of just a change oil, belts type of thing. I'd hate to be a bimmer mechanic personally.. I've been in the pits at some bmw races and I don't think I could do that. My SRT is simple to work on. And parts are probably half of what it would cost for a similar outcome on an M (until you get to the 400-500Hp range, then its exponentially cheaper). (again, my next car is an M :( )

I worked for one of the biggest used auto dealerships in the country besides car max. You do find car 20-40% cheaper but not cars that are in demand like M3. You will find a Ford Ranger, Crown Vic, Cavalier and Chevy S10 cars that are very mass produced. Cars that people do want such as M3, AMG, Honda(Keep their value), Toyota and so on. You will not get that much of a break on. Usuaully if you do they require alot of work to pass inspection. Some may require body work...perfect example

We got a 2001 IS300 for 15k 45,000 miles

It had 1k in body work
Detailing was 150 bucks
Brake job 600
Tires 400
Lube+Filter+alinement 200 bucks
Interior specialist 200 bucks
Inspection 65
Timing belt 400
windshield 300 *for cracks*

before its all done the car is up to over 18k

Car salesman need to get payed too

We would resale it for 21k the salesman might get 500.....

At the end to save 1k? or 2k? not worth it. This car also had no mechanical damage. The miles are low compare to an M3 with over 120,000 miles. Parts are also alot cheaper. Also add to to the fact you still have to pay taxes on that. Which are slapped down to you the customer even if he is your uncle you cant get away from taxes.

If you don't like SRT-4's...take into account that the same guy in charge of the SRT program, used to be in charge of Mercede's AMG program.

They're great cars, but they're still a Neon at heart. It will show it's true colors by 70,000 miles. This is coming from a former Dodge Salesman.

blah blah blah.. I didn't buy the car to last a million miles.. I bought it to mod to hell and be able to affor lunch at the same time.. now that my financial situation is starting to pick up, i'll finally be able to do just that and get my first 'wish list' car- an M3 so I can track the SRT. I don't care if the interior isn't perfect, and I don't care if the car needs some work here and there. I'm probably never going to drive it on the street again once I get my M anyway.

a 323i is the same exact as a 325i, other than the badge of coarse///

This is the most fun you can have in a FWD car.

thats my point tho, as much fun as you can have in a fwd car, don't get me wrong, its a pretty nice car and its got balls for being a neon...........but you can't drift like u can in a RWD car. its completely diff. if thats not ur thing than its all gravy, but seriously who doesnt love drifting??? and my car was plent fun but FWD just doesnt cut it for me

btw srt, good looking car def, howd u get usaa to cover you?? dont they only cover people that somehow have relations to the military? they are pretty cheap too, they killed all the prices on my bike and they cover everyone in the family except my brother, they forced us to drop him

Yeah they are a really good company. I got on through my Dad. Hopefully they don't drop me. The reason I got the Srt-4 is beacuse someone torched my Eclipse. USAA really stepped up and I got an insane check a week later in the mail. If you can get USAA I highly recommend them

As insane as it sounds, State Farm was cheaper for me than USAA when I was in the service

It's not how i THINK I can buy an m3 okay whatever i'm done with this thread when I get my m3 i'm going to come back and rub it and everyones faces. :rolleyes

how are you gonna rub it in peoples faces when half the people here drive e36 M3's? and in better condition than any you would get,

anyway....good luck on the trade, if you wanna sell your car and buy mine i have a 2001 330i for sale for like 23k or so, its auto so i doubt youll want it though :( , damn it i want an M3 too :shifty

i dont doubt that someone will trade you...i knew a guy that had the most beautiful E30 M3 and sold it for a damn SRT-4 :confused

again--good luck on the trade

Damn man, I pay $75/month I'm 21 married tho.

You're 21 and you drive a pretty fast car and your insurance is only $900 a year? Thats completely insane! What in the hell? :confused My dad is 51, married, and has never been in an accident or any speeding tickets, drives a slow ass Chevy Tahoe and it costs him $1,200 a year.
