Lately my ABS idiot indicator light has been coming on. I suspect it's really telling me something because when it first started it would be maybe once a month at that, but now it seems like almost every day. Another thing is that I also get the "Check Brake Circuit" light coming on more frequently as well. I'm thinking this may relate to the infamous trunk lid wiring fatigue that someone on the boards discovered, but not certain. Can anyone that has had an intermittent ABS warning let me know about thier experience? Also could someone explain just how the ABS system works, and what are the component parts that make up the ABS system.

Thanks,

Hank

Brake Circuit Light:
Dealer fixes it for i think $115 including parts, labor and tax.

ABS Light:
Get it diagnosed, if its the censor underneath the seat it could cost alot. My tech quoted me around $600. he said its a pain to get to etc. and the parts.

If your OBC displays "Brake Light Circuit Failure", then it is indeed your brake switch and here's a write-up about how you can remove/replace it:

You can buy a new one at the dealer for less than $30, or perhaps a bit cheaper from elsewhere.

Cheers.
