I want to go with an aftermarket suspension but I'm unsure of what suits the car as my other M3's were coupe's and sedan. I have had on past models Bilsteins with H&R sports, Bilsteins with Eibach pro-kit, and Bilsteins with GC coil over kit, all with stock sways.

I've got a TC Kline coilover setup with Koni SA's adjustable at the top. Spring rate is 350 fr and 400 rr. You can adjust the rears from the top by opening the rear deck and popping out the black plugs...pretty neat.

Call and ask for Pete.

Thanks, do you run the Koni's more towards the soft side or the stiff side in the fronts and backs?

I checked out their prices and :eek: . $1,500 for the kit. I have a convertible and need opinions on what coil over system to go for. I realize that I could very well go for a simple shock/spring setup but because of the vert's heavy rear end the car would sag and rub. A way to get around this is to use larger spring pads but I don't know if I want to mess around with that.

I'm assuming
$1,500 for the TCK kit
$100 RTAB's + GC Shims
$80 Rental for RTAB Tool

making it a little more difficult and expensive than it really is. spring pads are nothing to install and you dont have to go with tc kline Co's.

Well i'm trying out the Bilsteins with Eibach pro-kit this friday ... I hope this setup is good ... I was looking at the H&R springs setup but on the item it doesn't say convertible on them and Eibach pro-kit does ...

total cost with install is about 1k

Bilsteins = 600
Eibach Pro-kit = 220
Labor = 200

Let us know what you think. My 98 vert seems to hit really hard on bumps or small potholes, sending vibrations into my spine. I was chalking it up to the thin 40 series tires...but now I am thinking I need to check my shocks.

How do you check your shocks for wear? Part of me is afraid to start in, as it will likely mean, new RTABs, and RSMs! :eek:

If I do need shocks, I plan to go with Bilston Sports. I really don't want to drop it any lower or adjust it, as I use it mainly as my cruiser, and do not plan to track it...ok, maybe once.
Thanks,

I'm running Koni's and Eibach Pro-Kit on my 95 325iC. Koni's are set on full soft. Wheels are 225/45/17. I think the ride quality and drop is great.

Don't forget another $120 or so for full alignment. You need to do an alignment any time you change the ride height of your car.

I see you're in Fairfax, where are you having the work done at? You should check out Curry's, it's a high performance car shop in Ashburn and Chantilly I believe. I have personal experience with the Ashburn shop and there is a guy there with an E36 M3 that does great work. They charge $101/hr for labor though which is pretty expensive, but they do excellent work.

I'm having mine done at a performance shop in gaithersburg which cost me 800.00 difference from currys ... go figure :dunno ... I understand that curry is a great shop to go to but I can't ignore the price difference and plus I got this place in gaithersburg from a friend who has his evo workon ...
