I just bought a set of manual cloth/suede vaders to replace my power heated vaders. How exactly do my front seats come out. I would guess there are four bolts holding them in place....but my real question is how do I disconnect the heated part and the power motor? It will probably be sefl explanatory once I get the seat un-bolted but nay helpfull tips would be great to speed the process up. Do I need to do anything with the heated wire (cap it off etc...) or is it fine to just be sitting there loose and unplugged?

Hopefully the rears won't be too much trouble....I am sure there is a write-up somewhere for this :confused

thanks

3rd one are you willing to sell the leather vaders you had in your car?

Two nuts in the front tracks, two bolts in the rear tracks. There are two wiring harnesses underneath each seat you need to disconnect. Just tilt the seat back and unclip them. On the passengers seat there's another little box you need to disconnect as well. It's not readily apparent how the plug comes off, so don't force it and take your time...

not at this point. I think I will hold on to them for whenever I sell the car. I would like to be able to part out the cloth ones seperately......plus my vaders are still in practically brand new condition....so it might help speed a sale up :D .

thanks Doc

so the old wires can dangle around loose with no problems? I'm guessing its ok that way. I am also expecting to trip my SRS light in the process....is this correct?

thanks

Aren't the new cloth vaders heated as well? If so, everything plugs right back into them. You shouldn't trip an SRS light when you do this...

According to the Bentley you are supposed unplug the negative terminal of the battery while removing a seat. Not sure if it is required though.

Not needed. Bentley isn't always correct.

nope I ended up with a non-heated set....oh well. I might spend the time this winter when the cars off the road to try and retrofit the heating elements...although it looks like more of a pain in the ass then it might be worth.

On my manual seats there was the cable for the belt tensioners. Do the electrics not get this? (I used these instructions - http://www.logun.org/manualseat.htm )

That little black box under the passenger seat is the part of the SRS Passenger Sensor
