I ususally buy from Discount Tire but,
for those of you who use TireRack.com, how do you go about balancing and rotating.

Just take it someplace local and pay the 20 bucks or whatever. If you're not concerned about balance you could always rotate them in your driveway with a jack and jack stands.

For my 944 I've always bought from TireRack. For the 325 I'll be heading some place local.

Your best bet is to go to Discount Tire. They match Tire Rack's price and they can work you a deal where it ends up being similar costs and you don't have to deal with all the BS in terms of getting tires shipped to your home, putting them in your car, and going to get them mounted/balanced. I have always used Tire Rack's prices as a way to bargain at local tire shops. I have done this for years. For example, I was even able to get a set of S-03s cheaper at a local tire shop mounted/balanced than going through Tire rack. Sometimes, I wonder how Tire Rack can stay in business when local tire shops can give just a good a price with same day service.
