I weighed my car today and it weighed 3050 without me in it. I removed my tool kit, spare tire/wheel, back seats and all the carpets. I think the weight of my car is pretty good for now, I'm still trying to reduce the weight of my car.

My question is how much does your car weigh? What weight reductions have you done?

3293 with my 160 lb. ass in it. Thats with 2/3 tank of gass, no spare, 17lb wheels, fan delete ( :rolleyes ), and a Dinan muffler. Since then theres a rollbar in the rear, no seats, and the exhaust stuff in my sig, so maybe a few lbs lighter. Its still a pig tho....

I think the real question that should be asked is: how much does your car weigh compared to an e46 m3

I can tell you the e46 is at least 400 pds. heavier compared to a fully loaded e36 m3.

thats why some guys can hang or even kill an e46 m3(depending on mods of course)

You know it really rubs the e46 owners the wrong way when you bring up their weight dont you? ;)

Where exactly can you go to weigh your car? I have heard so much controversy on exactly how much more a Luxury edition M3 weighs compared to a regular one (heard answers between 10-250 pounds) that I would like to get mine weighed just to get a correct answer.

What's the weight of a stock 95 m3?

EDIT: looked it up on google. It said 3175lbs so mine is right around there :)

'99 convertible. I weighed it at an autocross event. I have NO mods on the car. I have manual seats. For autox, I remove the spare tire, the jack, the floor of the trunk and all the floor mats. I had about a 1/2 tank of gas in the car.

3424 without driver

Yes, that is a lot of weight to be carrying around in B-stock class!

I don't have an E36, but we weighed a friend of mine's '98 M3 (coupe), it came in at 3180. No driver, full tank, power seats, otherwise stock.

For comparison, my '91 318is with 3.0L 24v motor and heavier driveline weighs in at 2620.

where do you guys take your cars to get them weighed? Do you just stop in at a local weigh station and ask them to weigh your car?

Either at a National TOur event, or I have scales from corner balancing.

I weighed in at 3300 with me in it (170), no spare, 18" ACS wheels, Edge exhaust, and a crap load of books, cleaning supplies, and clothing in the trunk. That was also the day I ran a 13.8...I wonder what i weighed in at with the LTW wheels...

Hmm any chance I can just get a weigh at E-town? I go to a different track up north which, while kinda shitty is cheap and usually empty so I can get a lot of runs in.

Yep Island is about equidistant as E-town but less crowded and cheaper. The track does suck though it's very slippery.

A base E46 M3 (no option) is close to an E36 M3. Around 3250 I believe. Throw in some light wheels, light exhaust and lightweight seats and you've got a VERY light E46 M3.

Then again, you don't see many E46 M3's out there without all the extra crap installed which really pork the car up.

3063 at the last national tour in houston with 3/4 tank of gas and backseat. Now I should be closer to 3000 since I took out the rear folders and i run lless than 1/2 tank of fuel

Are you sure about this? BMW has the weight of a 330 as 3285lbs. I think the lightest I've ever seen an e46 m3 was high 3300s. Just curious.

Someone with a no option E46 M3 told me this figure.

I also believe BMW states curb weights with added ballast and a full tank. I've heard this somewhere as well.

I dont have any solid proof but its something to look into.

Yeah I've heard the same thing as far as BMW trying to account for the weight of fuel and the driver. Just trying to get my facts straight as far as what the advertised weights are. Thanks

If your local track does not have a weigh in station, just take it to your local scrap metal yard and slip the guy who runs the weight station 5 bucks, he'll weigh it!!!

We do it all the time, since we have one within minutes!

It's as accurate as it gets to! :D

5 bucks, aren't they free? Me and my friends always go to a weigh station in west salem, Oregon. Noone is ever there and it's free to my knowledge.
