It's funny how that auction uses JDM and BMW in the same sentence :D

If those were quality seats, I'd be totally in for it.

Are you saying they are not quality seats? Or are you asking the question?

They look good, but... I don't know anything about them.

After looking at the auction closer, I don't think these are Recaro seats. I think they are basically saying "Recaro JDM Style." Just like all of the other knockoff/replica stuff. I also think that no one in their right mind would sell a pair of "custom" Recaro seats for that cheap. Recaro makes some nice quality seats and they are never that cheap new.

those aren't actual recaro's....

they are supposedly cheaply made seats and people say that they wear down really fast.

i like the styling of some of the Recaros like the SRD, but they got nothing on Bride seats

i believe they are Recaro 'style', not real Recaro seats. Also, if i remember correctly, Recaro seats have a shell construction, not a tube frame. When i was shopping for seats for my spec car last year, every Recaro seat John at Northstar Motorsports showed me either had a fiberglass, plastic or some kind of metal shell. The idea behind it was that not only did they support you, they protected you from possible puncture type injury in the case of 'the big one'.

Junk. They are knockoffs, you get what you pay for unless its a clearance sale.

And its not.

It says nothing about weights (which is one of the main points here, right? Keep that in mind.) and what real Recaro seat goes without mention of weight savings...

I saw that pic of the seat that said Bride, do they make one that says Groom?

I'm sorry, I had to do this.

i went with authentic SRDs...couldn't be happier. awesome seats!

but don't cheap on a safety item as large as seats....you could seriously regret it.

it is rather tempting though to shelve my vadars in hopes of keeping them nice and put in something else.

wont our airbag senors get messed up if the senors arent hooked up, it seems to me it sets an airbag light that someone with a BMW computer has to reset.

Im just saying they arent real recaros. My buddy's got a couple ebay recaro knockoffs in his car and they aren't holding up to well to abuse. I could sell my vaders for more than the $230 they are asking for. If they were real recaros, I'd jump on it.

My friend is doing a M3 conversion on his car. And he's going to replace the seats with these. I'll let you know about the quality and feel on these when he does get them.

Those aren't Recaro seats. They are Recaro-lookalike seats. These off-brand racing seats come up on eBay all the time. Real Recaros would be waaaayyy more than $300 each.

another inferior M3-clone. yay, another reason to be glad my M3 is legit.

There have been cases of cheese-ball replacement seats breaking in half upon a rear impact. You think this taiwanese clone is up to DOT standards?? Probably not.

I'd save up and get REAL seats from a legit source. It's $$ or your spine...what's worth more?

Ahh, I see. I'll update the list then. It's been un-updated for ages stating you haven't paid which is why I messaged you.

At any rate, the deal will go until this Saturday, the 16th if you're still interested.

Thanks again!

We now return to our regularly scheduled thread. :D
