When did the shift boot frame switch from the asymmetrical to the symmetrical shape? I have a new boot with the symmetrical shape that won't fit in my 93 325i with the asymmetrical opening.

I think the symmetrical style goes in the 318ti. I knew a guy who was parting out a 318ti and he had the shift boot and I realized it wouldn't work since it was symmetrical.
