I saw another post awhile back that asked a similar favor in another forum.
I'm looking specifically for a 91 318is and have looked extensively in the autotrader, cars.com, recycler.com, yahoo, local paper classifiedes, bmwcca regional chapter forums etc. and almost everywhere imaginable with no success in finding one in very good to excellent condition.
Would a BMWCCA member that receives the Roundel let me know if they see any listings in the Roundel classifides for a 91 318is? I live in southern California but am willing to travel and pay $$$ for the right car.
Thanks!

By the time they show up in the print edition of the Roundel they're usually gone. There's interactive classifieds on the BMWCCA national website that would probably be more useful to you. Why not spring for the $40 (or whatever it is) and get the CCA membership and access to the website?

I plan on paying the $70 and joining but it will most likely take 4-6 weeks for me to get my first edition of the Roundel.

But shortly after joining you'll get your membership number. That's what you need to access the classifieds on the national website, which is totally different than the magazine. More cars and much more current!

Go here: http://bmwcca.org/services/svcfset.shtml
then click "Classified Ads - Public"
then on the next page click "Public Roundel Classifieds"
also try the "sneak preview" link on that same page.

The Classified Ads - Public don't appear on the website until AFTER the Roundel goes to print. If you think the Roundel is old, these are even older.
The Sneak Preview link is what he wants to use. But someone is going to have to give him their last name and member number for him to get access.

This is the only one currently listed:
1991 318is WBAAF9311MEE65245 Alpine white/tan, 72.7k miles, odo replaced at 34,733, new fuel & water pump, SuperSprint exhaust, BMP custom chip, K&N cone filter, a/c not working, needs minor electrical work, interior excellent, exterior good, records, driven daily. $2,500. 843 571-1513,
rchinnis@comcast.net. (SC)
This was from the 'public' section. The members section didn't have any... so this car is most likely gone.

I think he can access Sneak Preview without a member name and number.

I just saw a '91 318is in the Houston paper this morning. Said it's red/beige, 84k miles, they are asking $3450 for it.
Shoot me a message if you want more info on it. I can even go look at it and take some pics for you if you like.

Looks nice, the sunroof doesn't work and there are some other small issues but I'll be watching it.

Paid $40 yesterday for one year membership, they said it'd take 4 weeks to send me my card and membership #.
