Painting Valve covers

Is there anything i should know? Where i should go? Would regular paint work? Just get it done at a body shop? thanks

Make sure that you get a good primer. If there are large dents or abrasions on the surface, fill with bondo. Keep in mind that the valve covers on 96 or earlier cars are magnesium. 96 is a crossover year and some may have plastic and some may have magnesium. After you sand and degrease thoroughly, apply thin coats of a HIGH TEMP, Ceramic based paint(1200 deg). After wards, allow to dry, polish with paint polish and wax. ;)
