View Full Version : What type of cars does everyone....
What type of E30 does everyone drive? Are there any other cars that you drive? I would like to know some information, and please post a picture of your car if you could! I'd like to get to know everyone here!
Me, well, I don't own a bimmer, but I am looking around for that perfect e30. I know it is hiding from me out there, but I will find it sooner or later!

This is my beast/work-of-art. Spent a fortune on it the last 2 years and find it's worth every penny! Considered buying a '00 323ci instead until I test drove one! E30 for-eva!

This is my first...'86 325es, red. No pictures yet because it's still winter up here in New Hampshire and I can't keep the car clean. I love this car! Can't wait for spring so I can start playing in earnest. High miles - 178,000 - but well maintained inside and out. I'm working out the kinks as I can. New Bosch plugs last Saturday, air filter. Need an antenna mast for my radio and plan to put in a new fuel filter next weekend if it's above 20 degrees farenheit! Took it up to 95 mph today on the highway today and I was barely over 3000 on the tach. How great is that? I could go on and on, and probably will in the future.
Thanks for a new forum!
Nice cars everyone! Empowered, I know you from the bimmer.org board, nice car. What type of exhaust do you have? I have heard Stromung and Supersprint are the best, just wanted to know what you had. Also, how did you Xenon headlight conversion go? How expensive was it, and do you think it was worth it? Personally, I love the look of Xenon lights...

Bry,
I can't tell you anything about Stromung, but stay away from Supersprint! It'll rust internally and is way overpriced. The exhaust I've been using for years is Brullen (www.brullenexhaust.com) full stainless. Definately the best/deepest sounding system you'll ever hear! I'm using Genie Headers, conected to dual 2. 25" mandrel bent stainless pipes all the way back to the Brullen box (with a dual in-dual out HiFlow cat)
I got lucky with the lights and bought them from a wrecked 540i last Oct. They're just "plug and play" and are worth every penny! Don't know about you, but when elipsoids get old and pitted, it's hard to see at night when driving fast. I rely a lot on my lights and didn't skimp out... the highbeams have 130W bulbs, the driving lights (ei. fog) are PIAA 1100X dichronics and the Xenon make the biggest difference. All of them on make even Police pull over!

hello everyone. I've been waiting for a board like this for almost a year now, glad to see we finally have one.
love your car empowerd and was wandering aproximatly how much it cost too put in the 3.2?
i'm still on my first bimmer, which i've had for just over a year now. red '88 325 5speed. got some work to do to it in this month, new wires, plugs, timing belt, tensioner, struts, tie rod ends and lower control arms so i can start driving it again. i think i did pretty good started out looking for a Jeep, found a 89 Cav. i wanted but it was sold when i got there, and sitting right next to that was my baby drove it about a block went to the bank and paid for it in cash and drove it home. cost me $2700 but it was worth it. beats the hell out of the 4 banger Mustang i was driving.

Hi Bryan,
An E 30 is an excellent choice to make for your first bmw purchase. I have owned 2 and they are really great. Just wanted to say hi, and to tell you this. Good luck with your first bmw.
Harry
Thank you, I hope to find that perfect car out there. Some day it will come along, so I can baby it and protect it. =)
Happy driving,

Wow, sounds like you have done a lot of mods to your car. I don't have an e-mail program on this computer, so I can just quickly tell you how to do it.
When you are posting a reply or a new thread, go up right above the main box where you are typing. There is a button labeled IMG. Click on that button and it will bring up a box, type in the url there. That should work.
If you can't get it to work, e-mail me at gromitk@texas.net or just post anothere reply
Hope it works,

91 black 325 i w/ exhaust, intake, chip, springs, shocks, wheels and tires, front sway bar and a serious system. I dont know a lot of the brands, considering I just bought it yesterday, the owner before the owner I bought it from did most of the stuff, so he was a little unsure too. Im bringing it into bavarian to get everything checked out and maybe i'll get some answers before I check it all out myself.

BTW, this thread confused the living hell out of me until I saw how old it was. It was funny to see Bry talk about how he doesn't have a bimmer yet, even though it says 1988 M3 under "cars". It's all good though. I rock my 1989 325i daily, not for too much longer though. Mom whips a 2001 Honda Odyssey. Dad rolls in a 2002 Ford Exploder XLT V6. Sister pimps around in the 1997 Pontiac Grand AM (or Gran-Damage if you prefer). For projects around the house/hauling crap we also have a 1993 Ford Aerostar XL (aka: The MolEStar) Hopefully I'll soon be adding a 1993 Ford Escort LX wagon to the stable so I can park the E30. Plan on yanking the engine out, tearing it down, hitting everything with a micrometer, rebuild, then perhaps a turbo? Or maybe a stroker before the rebuild? Stroker-turbo? Who knows...

92 325 cabrio. Laguna green (never seen another like it!) with a black top (1.5 years old), tan leather interior. I've had it four months, but have known it for four years. I've replaced tires, t-belt, tstat, plugs, intake air boot and all fluids.
I do not plan any major mods, since it's just supposed to be a fun little car, but I am making it into a very clean example of the breed! No pics yet though.
