Hey guys, I'm tring to get my new 325 up to snuff and need a few bits to do it. I'm looking for a couple of specific things right now, but I'm sure I'll keep finding things I need.

So I'm looking either for a guy with a garage full of parts or a local junkyard with good selection and prices on BMW stuff.

Here's the short list for today...

I need a turnsignal/parking light insert for one side (I believe they're the same for both sides. You can see in the above picture where the connector was cut off and I just have wires. So I'd need everything from the part that 1/4 turns into the light housing and holds the bulb (the one from my other side is on the left in the picture below). I could also use both sides harness connector + about 6 inches of the wires. One is completely missing, and as seen below, the other has one wire broken off and the others are getting there.

INSTALLED, DON'T NEED THIS ANYMORE
In the back, I need a brake light insert for one tail light. I pictured the other side's insert. Including a working bulb is a plus. And the clasp for one side is broken, it doesn't hold anymore. Compare the broken left to the good right one.

Missing one license plate light cover, and the other has black overspray on it. So either one or two of these, and a working bulb(s) if you have one.

INSTALLED, DON'T NEED THIS ANYMORE
I need a front bumper tow hook insert/cover. Also a tow hook/eye if you have one.

Finally, I didn't picture it, but I'm missing a seat belt pivot cover (the one over the drivers left shoulder.

I realize some of the things I'm asking for are pretty simple, but if you have an extra license plate/turn/parking/brake bulb, I'd much rather just use that then go drop $20 on all of them at Pep Boys. Plus if they're just sitting in a box in someone's garage, at least they'd be put to good use.

That's it for now. If you have any of the parts I'm looking for, or know of a place that does, please let me know. 3Vil.series -AT- gmail.com

There's a BMW junk yard off of Plymouth east of Telegraph. I can't remember the name of the place but I'm pretty sure that its at Plymouth and Warwick St or Plymouth and Fitzpatrick St. Its not on Plymouth its down the side street about 1/4 block or so. If you got east of the railroad tracks on Plymouth you've gone too far.

Glad to help.

I never purchased from these guys, I was there with a buddy a few times. From what I can remember you might want to have a good idea of what a reasonable price for your parts might be. It seemed like there might be some negotiation on pricing. Just don't want to see anybody get ripped off.

I've had good luck with "The Euro Depot" for used parts. here's there number and website. (866)497-3838

Ok, I checked this place out today. They seem like a pretty good shop. Apparently they get very good rates on new BMW parts, even the dealers order parts through them. They had a good number of cars (~25) around their shop, but they weren't too keen on the idea of me getting some of the "trinket" parts that I wanted. They'd be a good shop for a replacement engine or transmission or something on those lines.

So I'm going to go ahead with some of the emails and messages I've received for the parts I've asked for.

If anyone knows of a U-Pull-It or other "no part is too small" place with some e36 BMWs in Detroit, please let me know.

Thanks

I found this site today...

http://www.mitchsautoparts.com/picts/top.jpg (http://www.mitchsautoparts.com/)

Granted they are in a rougher part of D-town, but if they've got good parts and prices, I'll use them often.

I've gathered a couple of things I was looking for already, the car is really starting to come together. I actually drove around today without any check codes on my OBC! Amazing!

I've figured out a few more things I need...

1. Upper fan shroud/alternator duct. Parts seen highlighted in this picture:
http://evilallianceracing.com/ipw-web/gallery/albums/3Vil/fanshroud.jpg
and missing from this picture:
http://evilallianceracing.com/ipw-web/gallery/albums/3Vil/lacking.jpg

2. Any CAI heatshield that will fit my no-name CAI (second picture above). I don't need one lined with gold foil or made from a carbonfiber/asbestos blend. Just something that won't look horribly homemade and will save me the bother of cutting something into shape myself.

3.Engine undertray(s). Also somewhat visibly missing in the second pic above. I'd like a used JTD, but would settle for something homemade or cheaper in some way (with a proportionally cheaper price, of course).

4.A fuel pump in good condition. Mine is making a very loud and annoying buzz (http://evilallianceracing.com/ipw-web/gallery/albums/3Vil/108_0876_MVI.avi) and I'm sure its going to crap out on me as soon as I'm 200 miles from civilization. I can get a new assembly from bimmerparts.com for $119. I don't need the whole assembly, just the pump itself. I think its a Bosch part, from what I have researched. I'd want to pay about $50 shipped for a new one, less for one in used but guaranteed good condition.

5. Coolant expansion tank and used aluminum thermostat housing. I've got a slow but steady coolant leak at the front of the engine bay and I want to get rid of it. The PO just did a waterpump/thermostat change, but left the plastic housing on. And I've already seen the expansion tank leaking from the upper seam (unless thats where the OVERoverflow is supposed to drip out?) Also if someone has a lower temp fan switch, I could use that too.

6.Finally, I still need the parking/turnsignal harness endS/bulb/socket, as well as the license plate light covers and bulbs.

Thanks guys. I'm probably getting a set of authentic M3 Contours tomorrow, I'll post pics in the main e36 forum.
