I want to put tires 225/45 R17 in my Bmw E46. I am between Bridgestone S-03, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 and Bridgestone RE 050. Which of these four has the best rim protector ? I want the side of the tire to get as far as it can be from the wheel so that it can protect the wheel better.

RE 750 has a big lip protector, I think it's bigger than the S03. It's very noticeable

What do you guys think of the RE 750? Has tons of great reviews and has everything i'm looking for. Anyone here had personal experience with it?

thanks

I have quite a bit of experience with the RE750s, not on the E46 though. I had a set of them on my Integra and a close friend of mine has em on his GTI. Traction is great, wet tire performance is great and treadwear is great for the traction you get. The rim protector rocks. I was pretty sloppy with my parallel parking on the Integra and haven't gotten a scratch on them still, that car got totalled so I can't tell you how it will do long term but trust me when I say that when my stock Contis go on my new 330Ci ZSP the RE750s will be at the top of the list.

The advantage of the RE750 would be the extra tread life and the lower cost. The other tires you mention would all offer higher performance with the rim protector. I have used the RE750 for about 6 months and they have worked fine even with aggressive handling.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

I'm running the RE750's. No complaints here. Great street tire, plenty of grip dry and wet. I really like them.
