It turns out that I could only get sways for European BMW
models (E36 or E46)...
Does anyone here know if they are interchangeable with
USDM BMWs???

Bernie did a group buy for SS exhaust for me. Do you want me to ask if he will do a group buy on the Sway bars? If so how many are there.

Is there a difference between the Anti Roll kit and sway bars? I dont see the part # for sway bars on eibach's website

The correct name for those parts are anti roll bars. The term sway is a holdover. They are the same thing.

For the UUC you can just email this guy at bimmer racing jj269ci@hotmail.com
Now I posted on DTM and some guy said he can get the Eibach for $240.
http://forum.dtmpower.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33181
So if that is true then I will work with him to find out. I already emailed him.

Okay I got an update for this if anyone is interested.
Shox = $319
Bernie (total.net) = $315 (need 3-5 people)
One other place said they will offer a $125% price guarantee which means about $299 or so. I have sent them the information from Shox and Bernie so they can confirm the price.
(I emailed the guy on DTM but no response. Seems too low of a price anyway to be real)

Here is the deal. Currently the vendor is working a mass purchase with Eibach. The estimate that it will be about 3-4 weeks before that is all in place but the price will be very good. Definately ~$240 for the sways but also the other Eibach products will be available as well.
What I will be doing is gathering a list of people and the cars that they have that want this part or any other Eibach part. I will give that list to the vendor and they will make sure that those parts are ordered right away. You wont be under obligation to purchase but they want to at least stock the parts that people actually want.
Personally I am not in any hurry to purchase to saving $70 sounds good to me as well as I might be up for some coilovers if the price is really good.
So what you need to do is email me your info:
Name:
Eibach Product you want:
Eiback part # (from their website at www.eibach.com):
Year and Model of your car:
The more people that get on it the better the price will be. :)

Since most of us dont have the sway bars and are looking to purchase them, we really wouldnt know the answer. You should try and find someone that has them already installed and see if they could answer your question.
Try posting in the general discussions forum. Im sure someone will speak up since Eibach is pretty popular.

I asked for an update. I also said that if they were not able to get this type of deal soon I'd try and organize this through some other vendor.
Ill see what the response is. I never got a repsonse from my original email so we shall see.
Give em one more week to at least reply then I'll look elsewhere.
The $240 might have been too good to be true but we shall see.
The other places I found were about $309-$319 + shipping.

Damn man, the above msg was posted yesterday, I said to wait a week and see if I get a response. If not then Ill find another vendor but when I looked before it was around $309 on the low side.
Feel free to help me out and find another vendor that will sell em below $300. I only found this place through someone at DTM.

I still haven't gotten a reply from them. Personally I think it is kinda rude not to even reply to my emails but whatever.
I will make an attempt to physically call them today to see what is going on. Otherwise we will take our business elsewhere
I will dig up my info again on these. I know I got a price quote from shox.com for about $310-320. I also remember one other site that would beat a price by 110% Which I think would put them at about $300 plus shipping.
Ill post tomorrow or Thursday and then see who is still interested.
I think most people (like me) wanted the $240 price and some people might drop if they have to spend $60 more.

Yeah, under $300 would be great. Over that much is not a deal anybetter than normal.
I have an ad on this forum for a used kit, or a deal on a new set if this deal doesn't work...and it looks like it ain't!!:(
PDX///M
06-13-2002, 12:54 PM
Here is all the information I gathered on this. If you think you can pull off something better then by all means help us all out.
I got pricing from 3 places online:
http://www.total.net/~bstephen = $329 + Shipping
www.shox.com = $319 + Shipping
one other place said they would beat a price by 125% Ill have to find that site again
I then posted this on DTM: http://forum.dtmpower.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33181
And some guy said that he knew of a place to get them for $240.
So I emailed the guy at pmpdesigns@aol.com
He responded with "we are looking at getting this line in permamently and would be able to handle your group buy. It will take us a few weeks to put this together please send us the list of part numbers you would be interested in."
So I composed a list of people (about 10) and sent it to him. He responded with "Great we will let you know when we get the line"
I have emailed them 3 times over the past 4 weeks and no response. So it looks like we will have to pay around $300 for these through one of the other sites mentioned above unless someone else wants to find a better price.
And if you think this GB sucks, well.... then go pay full retail for them. Im just being kind by organizing this. If I was making some money in the deal I would put more effort into it. But im not making a dime!! I just want the best price for the kit as im sure everyone else does too. If the $80 is not a big deal for you then go to www.shox.com and ask for a price quote and order yours today. :stickoutt
I might be able to get the UUC kits for $265 but I will have to ask.
If we want to switch to UUC then let me know. I dont think there is that much difference between the two companies.
Uber328
06-13-2002, 01:33 PM
Say dude, no complaints here. I'm happy that someone else is willing to go to all the trouble just to help a brother get a deal. I wish more people were like that, but the majority aren't.
If UUC is the same deal as Eibach, I'd be a player. I need something fairly soon, but I have waited this long and I can hold off a little longer.
Forgive my ignorance, but can sways be installed...or need to be installed if the X-brace is in already?:dunno

The sways are just a replacement of the stock bars. It can be used in conjunction with the xbrace. This will just stiffen the side to side movement of the car.

Just got a quote back from www.shox.com for Eibach front & rear sway bar kit for $299. I'm going to figure in shipping, which probably runs another $20. If this is the deal, I might go with that.
Unless of course, the UUC is so much better of a deal.
PDX///M
06-14-2002, 06:00 PM
Okay, I got confirmation today on the UUC kit. The price will be $270 per set + shipping for both the E36 and E46 sways.
If you are interested in this then I think we will go this route instead of the Eibach. We need at least 6 people to get this deal.
send me an email with your info and Ill add you to the list.

Count me in for a set...
Does UUC offer any weld-in reinforcements for the factory sway-bar mounts. I had a friend install the UUC bars in his 99 M3 only to have one of the factory mounts rip off the rear of the car a few months later. Apparently this is caused by the dramatic increase in rear roll stiffness with the UUC bars (at least they're working!)
He since welded in some $5 reinforcements from ground control. Does UUC have anything similar? I don't see anything on their website.
