Is it hard to create a new space for a Looking For or Want to Buy section? I am scanning thru the FS stuff and a lot of it is WTB? Just wondering - thanks.

I'll move this to that Forum and see if anyone else is interested in this change.

I dont think that most people selling stuff will bother to browse the WTB section, they will just put it in the FS section. But it might work.

<B>I agree, but if they don't its their loss anyway. I think a separate Wanted section is a great idea.

Didnt work on DTMpower...
I think it is beneficial to the parts trade to just have 1 section.
If there are seperate sections, most people wont even look at the WTB section, rendering most of them unsuccessful.
My $.02 anyway...

I think it will work to clean things up. But the most important thing is to post in earnest...if you are actually seeking to buy something and wish to obtain it leave yourself open to answering e-mails and checking the threads. This will help tremendously in it's usefullness and keeping everyone interested. I have answered countless WTB threads trying to fill requests only to get no response. So I guess the main factor is after you get the item go back and close your thread stating you found the item. It will show eveyone that the space is being used. :) also appointing a mod to clean it up at least once a month for inactive threads.

but then, people will be shunned for posting WTBs in the FS section... so it will actually be detrimental the BFC's trading.

I think the FS and WTB should be kept in the same sections, sometimes you see a WTB and consider selling a part you have, or remember you have one laying around. Only pet peeve is when people list an item, and in the title don't specify its a WTB and you check out the thread thinking its FS. Just try and get everyone to prefix their thread titles with FS or WTB at least.

Agreed. WTB gets very little traffic. People with stuff in their garage they've half-forgotten about usually don't actively look for people buying. They usually stumble onto WTB threads while shopping for stuff and remember they have what the guy neeeds.

Maybe add some 'Post Icons' for [BUYING-->] and [<--SELLING].

If folks were more conscientious about the type of ad and included that in the title, there would be no need for a separate section.

I vote uhuh.

A feedback, scammer section should be separate too!
