The driver's manual for my 98 328is says to use size 225 tires but I was wondering if 235's will fit?
Any ideas?

Rears or fronts? If your talkin bout the fronts id just stick with 225's. Wider tires up front arent really a pro. And if your talkin bout the rears, i have no idea :P

On the door jamb of my 97 328 is says I can use 235/40/17. And I currently use that size with no problems.

Thanks for the replies guys....
The reason I ask is that I might buy some new winter rubber but my buddy only has 235's. It's for all four tires.

i have 18's with 235 all around..no issues...
I've used 235s with no prob and can even run 235s in an R Comp which is actually wider than stated-wider than a 235 street tire.

Not true if you currently have a staggered setup (ie 225's front/245's rear). Having the same size all around will reduce understeer inherent by having smaller tire/ground contact patches in the front vs. rear.
