2004 5 Series Rims on E39

I bought a set of 17x8 rims off of a 2004 525i Sport but they don't fit my '98 540i. What's with the different bolt patterns for the 5 series cars. I thought they'd fit no problem since 17" was an original option on my car.

Any way to adapt or am I stuck. Nice rims, untouched w/ Potenza 245/45/17 REO50's. Sure would like to use them.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Whoa, I thought these were the same too. 5x120 and same center bore.
