Tried searching for some old posts, what is the concensus on wheel/tire size for one of these. it sits pretty low as it is so I'm not planning on lowering it.

I'm thinking 17's but I want to go with a wider rear wheel 255-275 tire. there seem to be alot more decent looking knock off 18's out there though, I'm willing to trim a bit here and there but I want to keep this a reasonable daily driver our other two vehicles are jeeps that are lifted about 7"

I have a set of e39 style 32 staggered wheels on my 535i with 235-45-17 on the front and 255-40-17 on the rear. The car is lowered and I have no rubbing issues at all. There used to be 18" wheels installed but with the suspension upgrades, it rode like a dump truck...okay, not that bad but it was real damn firm. Wheel offset is very important so make sure you know what it is before you buy. I guess I should change my signature...I'm running Kumho Ecsta ASX now.

Is there a online chart/spec sheet that has preffered options for wheel width size and back spacing?

Thanks

offset is more critical as you increase the width of the wheels. it is possible to squeeze in 18x10's & 275/35. I'd say that is the max tire. however a 18x9 with 22mm offset fits 275/35 without rubbing... other offsets may require spacers and maybe fender rolling.

regarding 17's, I think the 275/40 might fit - with the proper wheel.

Thanks for the replies, I am really looking for a staggered setup I've found a set of knockoff m5 wheels sizes 18x8 and 18x9.5 20mm/22.5mm offset

I'm trying to stay on a bit of budget and not spend thousands on the wheels. If I stay with a moderate size tire do those sizes and offsets sounds reasonable?

Factory M Parallel style 37 wheels for the M5 call for 8Jx18 ET:20 on the front and 9Jx18 ET:22 on the rear, so it looks like your pretty close. But I'm not sure if you can use 9.5 on the rear or not without clearance problems. Keep in mind that knock-off wheels are cast and not forged like factory wheels, so the chances of damage (especially potholes) are increased.

I just got some new shots this past weekend. Hope you like.
