Any tips&tricks on installing new rear stabilizer links on the sway bar? I already installed my new rear sway bar to the car - those bushing brackets were a pain to install with fresh bushings so i would not want to remove it anymore. Also it is new so i would not want to scratch it too much while navigating it out over the exhaust etc. It felt like getting the old bar out was trickier than getting the new one in.

I tried by just twisting and turning with some lubricant but could just about get them started. The sway bar ends are also in a pretty awkward position when installed so maybe it is impossible but as per the FCPEuro-guide it just requires "a few minutes of pushing and twisting to get the link completely the sway bar". Maybe the Lemforder-links are "too" tight out of the box or am i just weak? Surely someone has done this successfully with the sway bar installed? What did you use as lubricant??

You could warm up the bushing with a heat gun or even maybe a hair dryer to soften it a bit.

Thanks, did not think of that. Will try!

I use a bit of white lithium grease and a heat gun and usually a bunch of swearing. I haven't done an e34 but have done them on e24's and an e28 - should be pretty similar.

Managed to get it done pretty easily in the end by heating the bushing with a hair dryer and using lithium grease. Was in a pretty awkward position under the car and required a bit of pressing with my hand palm and simultaniously twisting a bit as i was pressing. Thanks.
