After my dad has gotten a flat tire around NYC for the 497th f****** time, I've decided it's finally time to set up a tire pressure sensor system.

I'm actually quite glad to see that Schrader makes a pretty good system, a rarity in these days of dropshipped junk:

The only limitation is the size of the rim hole for the new valve:
"For passenger cars and light trucks with .453" rim hole"

Does anybody know what size hole the 1995 525i comes with? Original rims and wheels.

Self-sealing tires cannot come soon enough. I swear to God.

You are looking for the diameter of the valve whole? There''s a slight chance there is variation from wheel style to wheel style. I have a set of rubber valves here that FCP sells for BMWs the gap where the valve would mate to the wheel is 15.1mm. The part is stamped TR 413 - which I think is the size spec. If anything I think you might have more of an issue with how far from the front lip of the wheel the valve hole is placed as opposed to the diameter of the hole. There has to be enough space for the TPMS to fully seat.

Anyway, I'll watch this thread as I've considered adding TPMS to my older cars.

You might want to add the specific BMW wheel style # and part number since so many are interchangable but not necessarily identically setup.
