No heat out of face vents.

Just recently I noticed that I wasn’t getting any heat out of my vents that point to the face. The heat coming out by the feet is still nice and hot. I was wondering if there is a common electrical problem known with the pre 95 e34 vents. I know they eventually switched to a mechanical potentiometer but the one my car has I’m pretty sure is all computerized. Which surprise… it failed:)

Thank you! This thread looks very helpful. It’s hard to tell on realoem. Are you familiar with the e34. Is it just one stepper motor or 2 like the e32 is?

I do not know the E34 system, only E32 IHKA, here it says it applies to E32 and E34 (?) https://www.shiftbmw.com/model/e32/center-vents/

Silly question Carter S. but have you flipped the stratified air wheel from blue to red (center vent)?

Yeah I have. Unfortunately the one I have is the electric dial before they moved to the mechanical on the 1995 cars. not a big fan since the dial kind of seems to bounce back to the middle a smidge once I move it one way or another.
