We’ve just launched a brand-new YouTube series where we dive headfirst into building a BMW E36 inspired by the legendary Super Touring Car (STW) era.
The E36 is already an icon in its own right, but the STW pedigree takes it to a whole new level. Our goal is to capture the essence of those late-’90s touring beasts—blending precision engineering, motorsport heritage, and modern craftsmanship. This isn’t just a quick bolt-on-and-go project. We’re going deep—dissecting every component, every choice, and sharing the nitty-gritty details with you along the way.
What to Expect in the Series:
•Chassis Prep & Reinforcement: We’ll be addressing the structural integrity of the E36 chassis, adding reinforcements to handle serious track abuse while keeping weight distribution optimal.
•Aerodynamic Upgrades: From splitters to wings, we’ll be analyzing and testing aero concepts inspired by STW regulations to maximize downforce without sacrificing speed.
•Engine Build: The heart of this project will be a high-revving masterpiece. Expect a deep dive into blueprinting, balancing, and squeezing out every ounce of performance while staying true to the STW spirit.
•Suspension & Geometry: We’ll fine-tune everything to create a setup that not only handles like a dream on the track but also reflects the advanced engineering of the touring car era.
