Hello all, just picked up a 1995 530i. 165k miles, Black on black, great interior and exterior. Mechanicals are crap, I'm a wrench so that's great for me.

Been on the forum since 2016 with my first car, 2000 740IL. Massive help here mad that car near perfect, I tracked it all the time. Then the 750IL came along and one had to go.

I have or had 2ea E60 M5 V10's, one manual and one SMG. I spend a ton of time on the M5board and have a V10 out for rebuild, both track cars. I also have a E36 M3 with a 5.3 LS, that is a stripped out track car too.

So I'm about a week into ownership and I'm down to the valley pan. Meanwhile I have a leftover M60B40 intake going on and upgraded Bosch injectors. All the usual hoses & O-rings to fix the vacuum leaks. Good tires and brakes will follow.

Looks pretty clean, is it auto or manual? When you get tired of the 530i's power, it's real easy to drop in an M60B40 or build an M60B44.

It's a manual, I was hoping for a 535 because I don't want to drop the coin for an M5. This was $5K, I want it to be slow. That way I don't scare my wife or end up in jail. My E60 M5 can double the speed limit with ease, this one takes a minute or two.

So I see the brake options are 740/540 or 850 if I want brembos. For a street car that will see some track fun what would the conses be?
