First, thanks in advance. The passenger front side window regulator in my daughter’s 1997 BMW 328i broke, took it out and it was a mangled mess. I ordered a new one from Dorman. It was pretty straightforward to remove and replace, and did confer with instructions and videos online. However, now that the new one is installed I can’t get it to work properly and I’m at a loss. I’ve checked and rechecked installation and everything seems great. I got the window aligned into the tracks, lowered and installed new clips to the regulator. However, whenever I try to raise the window, it gets about halfway and slows and then the ball joints pull out of the mounts. As it gets higher, the regulator arm secured by the right most bolt (passenger side) gets hung. I unbolt it and it shoots up, as if it can’t quite get high before it needs more room (hope this makes sense. Once I unbolt it, it allows the regulator to rise to the top. I’ve thrown everything I can at fixing this with no luck. It gets halfway and fails. Does anyone have any suggestions or provide help? I do have photos of it helps.
