Have the most annoying interior leak I am working on figuring out. This happened last year and I haven't really driven in since. Last year SoCal had a good amount of rain come down and it caused my passenger side footwell to literally fill up with water. I need to track down what is causing this. Everything online suggests sunroof drains might be plugged. Need to check the front right side drain I guess and see if thats clogged. Any other suggestions aside from that though? It seems to be at the front where your feet would touch so I am thinking it could be something near the cowl? Not sure how common a leak there is but really any suggestions would be helpful. I read in other posts there could be a blockage under the cowl trim where the air system has its intake. I plan to pull that off and check, but I recently replaced the cowl about 4 years ago and it seemed fine then. Again, any suggestions welcome.

Yep, it's probably the cowl or sunroof drains. You could also check the ECU cover when you're doing the cowl. Good opportunity to put the hood in the service position... Compressed air and a unbent coat hanger might be useful.

I'm thinking it ended up being the passenger side front sunroof drain. Although I am skeptical.... I pored a ton of water down that corner and it was very slow to drain out of this little tiny spot just in front of the door below the car. I kept adding water and it eventually started coming out of the hole that holds the lift/jack support puck?? I popped out the puck and it held a bit. I ended up jamming a flathead screwdriver into the slot where the water originally was coming out from and I opened it up, seems like that part was plugged. I then just started dumping water down everywhere to see how it drained. Was much faster this time. I then took some water and started dumping it on the cowl and waited to see if it filled up the floorboards and nothing... Which is why I guess I'm good but am reallllly skeptical about it so who knows.
With that being said, if the drain exit at the bottom of the car became clogged, what would happen? Where would the water go? Floorboards or?
