Hi everyone,

This may be a dumb question, but I'm very new to cars. I purchased a used 2016 BMW 335i GT from an unreputable car dealer in NJ (failed to read their Google reviews until after purchase). They told us the car had a "clean title" and that's about it. We did an inspection, test drive, etc. and pulled the trigger (it was a fantastic deal on paper). After we took it home and looked under the car, a friend was fairly confident that the catalytic converter was missing; it has a "downpipe". Looking online, I'm seeing catalytic converters with a similar style to what I recorded in the videos attached. Further, I had the car inspected today and it passed on the catalytic converter section. Before I send the car through emissions, I could use some confidence that the car is indeed lacking its cats. Would anyone be willing to offer their educated opinions? Sincerely appreciate the help.

Does the exhaust smell quite strong?
