Interior Dome Light Dimmer

The Shogun interior dimmer kit has been sold out for years. I'm now seeking a solution to achieve the same fade-in and fade-out effect, especially when the dome switch is in door mode. Based on my understanding, the ground (negative) of the rear dome light is connected to the front’s negative, meaning the rear will mirror the front dome light switch position. However, I'm not an electrician and am unsure how to make this effect work for both the front and rear dome lights. Any suggestions?
