E34 Steering Wheel Replacement E36 Question

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me with a steering wheel swap question.

I have an E34 530i 1995 with the four spoke airbag steering wheel. I want to replace it due to the poor leather condition. My car was made mid-1995.

I have found a four spoke airbag wheel that looks very very similar, though not identical, from an E36. It doesn’t have a clock spring, but I have mine that I can swap on.

My question is: can I simply take off my airbag module, take this new steering wheel, add my clock spring to it, and then wire in my airbag module, and otherwise it is all plug and play? So far as I can tell I won’t need any extra slip ring. My airbag module should also fit perfectly, right? And even if it doesn’t, I can just use the airbag module coming with this wheel?

Just in case someone stumbles upon this thread and is in my situation: the swap worked perfectly. re-used my airbag module. No airbag light on after install.
