hello everyone, my e34 525i 1989 automatic transmission, i am having a delay in first gear when i drive the car in the morning, it takes up to 2.5k to 3.5k rpm to change the gear, and while one the highway on 4th gear(last gear) when i remove my foot from the paddle i can feel and hear a kick from the back of the car and i have this kick from switching sometimes from D to R or from R to D. I had the car at the show some months ago, we had a new oil , filter, and cleaned all the trans, everything was good for a month only after that the symptoms are back. Is there any additive that i could add or anything i can do to fix this problem? and can anyone tell me how to adjust the kickdown cable?
thank you

check once more the correct level of the transmission fluid. Your automatic transmission should be a 4HP22 ZF.
4HP22/24 with dipstick and filling from top thru dipstick pipe: 1988 E32 owners manual states on page 63: automatic transmission, checking oil level: the car must be standing on a level surface with the transmission at operating temperature 80 degree Celsius. Allow the engine to idle with the selector lever at P or N. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it with a non-fluffy cloth and push it back to measure the oil level. It must be between the two notch marks. The quantity of oil represented by the space between the two marks on the dipstick is approx. 0.3 liter when the transmission is at operating temperature. If necessary, add fresh ATF at the oil level check pipe.
Delay in shifting to higher gear when engine is cold is normal, as the engine should come as fast as possible to operating time. You may feel that especially in winter time.

What do you actually mean by kickdown cable? The accelerator bowden cable? http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E34-Sedan/Europe/525i-M20/jan1989/browse/pedals/

This is going to sound nuts—but I've not had any gear hanging issues with my 1995 540 since I've removed my mechanical fan.
