1998 540 - Need rear struts info

Hi-venturing out to buy new struts for the rear. Trying to figure out what strut models I could use. Would go for standard ride, or slightly more performance...notes on many shocks confuse as it mentions air ride-I do have air bags correct? I believe I see them back there. I see 'shocks' but obviously I have a strut in the back. It's confusing to know what to buy.

If it’s not an iT you have shocks in the rear. The front has struts.

On my 6 banger wagon with sport package I went with Sachs Sport the OE supplier. Transformational compared to the worn out original ones at 120K. The fronts were gone at 100K. I don't think you can go wrong on pulling the trigger on OE fit, ride and longevity.
