Warranty on 2016 320i?

Hi all, after reading extensively about timing guide issues on earlier years, I went with a 2016 320i x-drive. We needed another car and after much research this seemed the best deal. I’ve owned several BMWs in the past so I know what I am [possibly] getting into, but I suspect we will only be putting 6-7,000 miles a year on it. Car has 98k miles but amazing condition with a regular service history. Purchased from a Lexus dealer and they offered my a 24 month power train warranty covering any transmission or engine issue with zero deductible. Cost = $2,900. It’s steep and I am actually surprised they offered. I know warranties are a big money maker for them, too. I am pretty handy and can manage most repairs like valve cover gasket, etc. But I am can’t imagine a catastrophic disaster in the next 14,000 miles. What say the collective - skip or buy?
