I was on a short road trip from Houston to Austin so I made a quick stop at Buc-ee's for a snack and figured I'd top up on fuel (was 3/4 full already) but I guess that was a mistake because not even a mile back on the road I got a check engine light and my car was running extremely rough. I was able to stop at an Oreilly and get the code read as P0302 Cylinder 2 misfire. Now, I know countless people have had bad gas experiences from Buc-ee's, but wouldn't that cause a multiple cylinder misfire? I replaced my spark plugs and coil packs around 2,000 miles ago and the car had been running fine up until fueling up. Today I swapped the 2nd coil pack with one of the old but still good condition ones I had thankfully saved, but it was still misfiring. Spark plug looked fine as well. Is there anything else I can check that would cause a single cylinder misfire?
Also, my mpg stayed about 17-20 on the drive home with the misfire I'm not sure if that means anything.

It's hard to imagine bad gas causing a single cylinder misfire. Double-check all the wiring to cylinder 2; maybe a bit of Deoxit on any connectors as well....

I recently had an issue on my 1998 e36 m3 after immediately leaving a Buccee's gas station, misfiring but making it home. We siphoned the gas out and it was just straight water. Clear with no smell whatsoever. After putting fresh gas in and running it for awhile the car did not stop misfiring. I tried clearing the code but to no avail. I figured the injector could've been clogged so I bought a new one but upon replacing it it is still giving me the same misfire code on the same cyl. I've already swapped the coil and packs around to see if that was the issue and the misfire didn't move. It made sense that since it was only one cylinder misfiring it could've been just that injector clogged but I guess not. I'm kind of stuck in terms of what else I could do so if anyone has had this problem please let me know. I'm about to give up and let a shop deal with it...
