The 2003 E39 does not need a new battery to be coded to the car - it can be changed out with no registration.
You need to get the basics if the car won't start after a battery change, e.g., is the new(er) battery fully charged? connections all good? was a fuse popped during install or is the positive terminal explosive connector blown?

Try to jump start the car. Did it work? Great, then follow Ed's advice above.

He is off to Tick Tock for important dancing and auto hack videos. A Chinese hack and spy tool you say of Red China? Naaa, that can't be true as I saw on the internet it is really a great way to learn stuff and make fun of people...

He went to Camp David to help F’n Joe Brandon to perfect that ridiculous state of the union speech he spewed the other night.
