Hello,
I am at the final step of my manual swap, my 540 is in that weird year where the Manual cars had ASC, and the automatic cars had DSC. I am trying to calculate my new ZCS, with all of my options but with ASC not DSC, but nothing I can calculate works. I am also having trouble calculating the VN (3rd set of numbers) of the ZCS, which I think is causing most of the issues.
Can anyone help me? I have searched as far as I can, I can find how to calculate the SA, but ZEKO does not allow me to select ASC, therefore will not put out what I need.
Thank you

Are you doing this for anything specific? You can just code each required module individually to reflect the manual settings?

I am trying to code the entire car, my ZCS has been messy for years since I had a shop do some coding. Since I had to swap to ACS from DSC, I am trying to make it so that I can code the entire car and not have any lights on the dash.

What is the build date of you car? What issues are you experiencing? What lights and errors do you have? Have you read through this article?

What do you think the best tool for this is these days?

If you are good at working with bit fields, you can grab the file Zeko/Data/E39ZST.000 and calculate the features you want. If nothing else, you can review the current codes you are using and see what is currently set.

Build date is 02/98. I have read through that and it has helped with my understanding of what is going on, just not the execution.
In terms of errors, everything in the car is "happy" (as per INPA and PASoft) with no errors on any of the major computers, DME, IKE, EWS, and ASC are all error free, yet I have a DSC light on my dashboard that never goes away as well as no speedometer. The ASC module will randomly throw a front left wheel speed sensor and a pump error, but I am still chalking those up to a faulty ZCS before I try and dive more into what errors may or may not actually exist. ASC can see all 4 wheel speed sensors per INPA, and all associated lights, switches, and buttons.
So my thought process is to start from ZCS, make sure I have one that would make my 02/98 car think that it is now a Manual 540i with ASC, NOT DSC, and then start my troubleshooting with errors from there, but I have high hopes that the ZCS will solve my issues.

I have tried that, I did it by hand and have managed to get 3 different numbers each time, so I am not super confident in my abilities.

Code for ASC is 0214, which is what I believe that I need.

What setting did you use for the ASC to accommodate the manual swap? I assume none of the errors were there before the ACS / Manual swap? If you read the ASC out with NCS what coding file does it show is used?

It is reading as e38 in NCS/ BMW Scanner. I am not sure what setting you are asking about. The errors I have with the light and non working speedo are new, what I was trying to fix was a permanent Steering Angle Sensor code and associated DSC light with the DSC unit being extremely unhappy in the now manual car. =

Read out the ASC With NCS and post a pic of the NCS screen after it is read out.
