I was upgrading my seats and found that a couple of anchors had issues and the bolts wouldn't screw properly.
I was able to re-thread one of them, on the driver's side.

But I have a front passenger anchor that's broken, I believe. I cannot even re-thread it or do anything else. I don't know what the previous owner did, but the nutsert, or whatever the bolt threads into, is kind of turning inside.

I can't seem to find much information online about this. Must not be a common problem.
I dont know how the heck previous owner cross threaded the bolt to the point where the nutsert turns around itself, but now I'm not sure how to fix it. I haven't taken off the carpet yet, but I have a feeling I will have to, soon..

Just throwing it out there in case anyone had a similar problem...

Time cert or helicoil. You need a firmly anchored seat. That is a hefty bolt, but I have an e46, and one of the bolts came out damaged. Lucky for me, the threads in the body are ok.

If you have or know anyone with a MIG or TIG welder the upper flange on the nutsert could be tack welded to the body in 3-4 spots so it won't turn.
You could then run a tap thru the nutsert to clean up the threads.
OR
Try some permanent Loctite on the OD of the nutsert to the body. It may hold it enough so you can run a tap thru it.

I like the welding idea. I have a stick welder but don't know how to use it much.
Those nutserts have some movement in them, so if I weld it, I may not be able to align the seat. I guess I can lengthen the hole in the seat base where the bolt goes.
I'll take a look to see if I can spot weld it...
