First time posting here, got a 2002 bmw 530i and was looking into getting better headlights. Looking at my wiring I have 5 plug ins with only three actually functioning (running light/turn signal, high beam, low beam) does anybody know the purpose of the other two plugs? Maybe for angel eyes and something else? Didn’t think that they came from factory with them on the base models if at all. But hey if they are that saves some money and time wiring them.

All 2001 and above had halos, aka "angel eyes". It was not an option. All headlights were identical in that sense. The only option would have been halogen or HID low beams.
Your 5 plugs are:
1. Low beams (or ballast if equipped with HID)
2. High beams
3. Halos (parking lights)
4. Headlight leveling motor
5. Turn signals
In the US, facelift E39s like yours have a dual filament turn signal which lights up together with the halos as parking lights. You should have at least 4 of those 5 plugs connected (the leveling motor is not always present), so if you haven't seen your halos that's probably what's unplugged.

Got it thank you very much, seems like the last person got some older lights without halos or the leveling plug in and just slapped em on there with the two connectors hanging completely open :/
