There are 2 leds sometimes and I am trying to read the fault codes from my BMW Z4 E85 (end of 2004).
I just bought a K+DCAN cable (blue with white board), installed and configured ISTA+.

It can read model, engine and so on. It asks only to insert if it's a manual gearbox car or an automatic one.
I tried set the cable switch to left (position 1) and also to right (position 4) but I get the same result: Control unit tree shes all red blocks because it can't read ECUs and 22 errors related to bus communication problems.
I suppose the cable doesn't work. I am asking because I am not sure if those codes are generated by ISTA or by the car itself. All errors are "communication problems" in the form of "S ####".
Here are 2 screenshots.
Thanks.

There is definitely a communication issue. Did it read VIN on its own or did you enter VIN in?

Make sure you have BMW Standard Tools installed correctly.
ISTA connection setting needs to be on EDIABAS.

Make sure that the COM port number matches in your EDIABAS settings (OBD.ini) to the COM port number in Device Manager.

Make sure that your latency is set at 1ms in Device Manager.
Make sure pins 7&8 are bridged in your cable.

I set the correct latency as you suggested and now it reads correctly. Thank you.
