Hello. I need help with my 97 328i.

I was driving last year and the car shut off on me. It will crank but not start. I read through many posts here but sadly no solution. I changed my fuel pump, fuel filter, crankshaft sensor and fuel relay. Still nothing.

With more research I found that there is no power coming to pin 30 of the fuel relay. Pin 30 is supposed to be getting 12v but it's not. Pin 87 however is. Not sure how this has swapped but that's the issue now. I'm getting 12v right to the fuse box but not sure where Pin 30 wire is going as it is supposed to be direct to the power. Anyone have a diagram that I can chase this wire or anyone have any suggestions on what is causing this? Oh I can jump Pin 87 to 86 and the car will start fine. But not sure how to fix this.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks for the help

wiring diagrams are here http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm
did you check the crankshaft position sensor? CPS signal is needed

Yeah I replaced the CPS, which was a pain. Does it have to do with stalling the power to the fuel pump relay? My thought process is finding why there is no power to pin 30 on the fuel pump relay. It's supposed to be hot but what's stopping it. Is there another relay or system that would stop it from getting power. Diagrams show it should be connected to the B+ post so it should always get power... is the fuel fuse stopping it? I tested that too but it seemed fine.

I have been messing around some more the last few weeks and here is what I found.

I traced the wire for pin 30 all the way back to some fuel air delio. Checked continuity and there was a connection. I thought pin 30 connected straight to power...? So trying to be smart I cut the wire at the relay socket and ran it straight to the fuse box hot bolt and plugged in my relay and still no start. It looks like pin 86 isn't getting power either now when it's at the on position

Any help? @shogun I replaced the CPS but that didn't help.

You've scanned for codes??

Stop jumping power in you will burn something.

Check the voltage of all the 12v wires under the b+ jump post.
