I changed my diff and axels recently after the car had been sitting for about a month to get it back on the road. It started fine and was warming up for a long time and I did not have any gas but when I pulled out of my driveway my car started to stutter and jerk super bad like I was about to run out of gas. I went and got gas for it and when I started it It still had a misfire or what I think a misfire sounds like but I let it figure it self out and it ran fine again. I went to pull off and when I get to 3-3.5k rpm I get a bad stutter or misfire and I have to shift but anything before 3.5k rpm it runs smooth. I have no idea what it is I ordered A crank shaft position sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter. Has anybody had this problem? Or might know the fix? Something with fuel I'm guessing.

Run a couple bottles of injector cleaner. If your coils are old or original then get a new set.

Hello! I Have a 1994 325i E36 M50b25TU my car recently ran out of fuel after sitting for a long period of time after I filled it back up and let my car figure it self out. When I pulled it out at 3.5k rpm under load my car hesitated terribly sounds like a missfire or something. It does this in every single gear. However When just sitting I can rev my car past 3.5k rpm with no issue I replaced park plugs, Ignition coils, cam/crank sensors, fuel filter, fuel pump, after doing all of that my car was driving fine it let me go past 3.5k rpm flawlessly but after about a day of driving I’m crusing about 60 going down the highway and it starts to do the same hesitation. Is it something with my ecu? I get a lot of rain where I live and always dealing w water in my coil packs is it something fuel related? It feel like my car is in limp mode. Maybe my crank/cam are getting burnt? I have no idea any opinions or ANYTHING ABOUT THIS I WOULD APPRECIATE IT🥰

Yeah well start using a tarp! and fix your engine cover to help prevent water in your coils that is not good at all. If you coils are old then get a new set, you can get coils with real lifetime warranty at fcp euro, or you can get cheaper ones new at ebay for under 100/set.

You can also replace your speed sensor in the diff or at least remove it and clean it.

The car sits for how long? you have to put the proper amount of Enzyme water remover (don't put extra), you can put dry gas too (ethanol water remover), as well as injector cleaner, but most importantly is driving the car if you let sit it will become a basket case.

And yeah, heavy rains in an older e36 the dme will have flooded and the dme circuite board will corrode. Get a can of Dexoit 5%, get acess to both sides of the board and hose it down, then scrub everything with an old toothbrush, repeat, let it 1000% dry out. You can probably use a freezer bad to help prevent water getting in there, put the bag so that the front is open, or better put it on an angle so that the bottom left is open. water would flow from right side.

My engine bay is now covered! And has been since I found out that’s a common issue. I also got a new set of ignition coils and spark plugs and cleaned out the water the best I could. The car gets started regularly I don’t have it sitting without starting it for longer than 2 weeks. It is drivable but I just can’t go past 3.5k rpm. I’m going to try injector cleaner today. And I’m also going to check my dme.
