I am selling this 1995 BMW 740iL on behalf of my elderly parents (both are in their late 80s now). They bought this car brand-new way back in 1995 (when I just started college), and since then it has served as little else other than a car for my mom to fetch the groceries in.
The car has 56,600 original miles on it now and runs fine. The V-8 still pulls nicely. The interior is incredibly clean for a car of this age. Since my parents moved to Houston in 2000, the car has been serviced at Bemer Motor Cars in Houston. They recently repaired the ABS module, which works perfectly now. The car is all original and any parts that have needed replacing over the years are BMW OEM. The car has been garaged 100% of its life.
For the purpose of full disclosure, we are disclosing the following about the car, which is reflected in the asking price:
1. The original front struts need to be replaced. However, the car still drives just fine.
2. There is a small oil leak from the oil pan gasket. It is nothing alarming, but at some point the gasket will need to be replaced.
3. A couple of years ago, my dad backed into his neighbor's car at very slow speed. This caused the black molding on the right rear bumper to crack. We replaced the black molding, but as you may be able to see in the pictures, it is not popping into place perfectly since there is some minor damage to the underlying bumper cover. The car looks fine, but if you wanted this perfect, you may need to replace the rear bumper cover.
The car was not detailed at all for these photos, so you may see some black grit or smudges on some of the closeup photos, especially on the right rear bumper. The paint and color are stunning.
We are asking $15,000 or best offer. The car is located in Houston, so you are welcome to come by and see the car if you are in the area. Please shoot me a message if you are interested in the car or want additional information or photos. My parents have kept a file with service records.
