Is any E46 rack an upgrade for my 97 328is?

I've got a lead on a few E46 racks locally. Both of them are yellow tag but they don't have the 712 number.

All the steering parts on my car are original. I need to replace the steering knuckle and power steering pump. I figured I should upgrade the rack while I'm at it.

I'm about to replace my third power steering rack since I owned the car, granted, that's been 20 years lol

Rack off the non-’M’ Z3 is a quicker rack than the E36 rack.
