how did you confirm it's lsd ? did you pull the diff cover to check the carrier ? that's the preferred way to confirm off the car. open diffs will act like an ls off the car.

the tag would indicate it's a 3.64. it does not have the S indicating a limited slip, i don't know if bmw kept using the S designation past e30. guessing the z29 would indicate a z car with a 2.9.

best thing to do is pull the cover, check the carrier, and count the teeth. that will tell you what you have definitively. identification tags get swapped all the time on bmw diffs.

Maybe from an E24 manual? Looks like boomerang mount bolt holes on the cover.

I know cause IÂ’ve tested it while I opened the cartridge
Previous owner said he had it on e36
I need to know whatÂ’s from so I can get the mounts

topside.

it's not an e30 cover on the back. assume it's from the e36. don't bother with the pic .. this is what an e30 / z3 case looks like from the topside.

It looks like it takes a boomerang for mounting. Some of us have installed older 210mm large case diffs into the USA E36 6 cylinder subframe with some modifications. Like in this link. https://store.vacmotorsports.com/mobile/rally-road-bulletproof-differential-conversion-with-210mm-big-case-bmw-e36-p4315.aspx

Popular for this is the old E32 750i 3.15 LSD and the E34 M5 3.64 LSD.

The Euro M3 uses a 3.64 LSD that is also large case 210mm but the subframe is a little different to accommodate a front mount with bushing.

With some work there may be a bunch of diffs you can put in an E36.

Guy who gave it told me it’s 3.64
What options do I have now
My car is a 1800is 92

Also in the back it says 364 729
I know for sure it’s an lsd tho both flanges go same way

i think it's actually 3,64 Z29. the flanges will always go the same way off the car. you have to apply a lot more resistance to one side to check them that way than can be done off the car.

peel the back cover off and check the carrier inside. that is definitive.
