My current favorite for original parts is bmwpartsdeal.com. Although not a BMW dealer themselves, they act as a storefront for multiple dealers. There are also many dealer stores like getbmwparts. It pays to shop around. For original parts, you can't beat the dealer stores.

The aftermarket valve cover reviews are riddled with reviews saying the plastic is paper thin and cracking.

Consider going original. There is a huge difference in some things with aftermarket and oftentimes not worth the time/labor to do it again.
