I know AA used 30# injectors in their previous gen kits, but what about their current one?
Are they 36lbs.?
Thanks

Aren't you running AA Software? Karl should have told you which Injectors you should run with that software.
Sorry, I have no idea what they use...

Yes, the software I have from AA uses 30# injectors (this was used with my mechtech kit), but the kit I have on now should be using "Bosch larger than Gen2" injectors.
I ask this because the set-up i have is essentially their stg1 gen3 kit and when I dynoed yesterday, i was running very very lean.

D'oh... in that case, your best (fastest/most accurate) bet is to just call Karl and ask him. You might have to get new software since you're now running a different turbo setup from Mechtech...

Darren, what SW are you using.....the chip from your Mechtech kit, or the chip that came with the kit you installed?

When you say lean how lean can you post your a/f plot ?
How much boost are you running I think you may just need new software contact Karl at AA about that.

Darren if you are going to run say 7 or 8 psi the stock injectors will do but you definately need new software.
Your torque comes in hard around 4200rpm and you want it richer than where you are at now. I would say in the low 12's in the midrange and on your top end looks fine.
What size turbo are you now using ? Are you only on 91 octane ? :)

Thanks Rich. I could've guessed you would've known.
M3TurboCa - At around 4000rpm is when I experience max boost. I'm using the mitsu 20G turbo and yes, i'm using 91 octane. We do have 100 octane gas, but i'm not going to mix it to, say, 93 octane everytime i fill up.

Darren, you can score a set of 36lb injectors pretty cheap, and then you should positively get your chip reburned, just play it safe brotha.....

My next question: what color tops are the 36lb injectors?
I've searched around and there seems to be two kinds. One that has a brown top and the other is entirely white/off-white but is "rectangle connect". I'm guessing it's the former...?

Darren the one on my car is a red top type injector and if your color is the same then the injector is big enough, this is the same injector that Im using and my a/f is fine running 12psi on the same 20g turbo.
You should ask Karl if he will can adjust your software dont know what the cost is but I think you should be a richer from 3500rpm and be in the low to mid 13's and then from 4000rpm definately low 12's.
Tell Karl to richen on wot from 3500 to 6000rpm and send him your dyno and if you know what was your last software.
Use at least 93 octane 91 is nasty you look a little rough on the top and you have smooth at 5.
Another option if you want to run 91 octane get water injection and run 40/60 methanol/water or even a 50/50 mix these are the mix I use.

Darren, I just noticed your dyno plot... do you mind sending it to me? (If you have the file) I'd like to compare both of us @ 5psi... although you need more tuning so I know it'll improve your power somewhat, but just for curiosity sake...
Thanks,
Boris

M3TurboCa - i got my software through eurospeed performance (their gb) and Alex is helping me out there as we speak. Yes, I currently have the red top injectors, which are 30#. That's good to know I probably won't have to change them. How much power are you making at 5psi, 7psi, and 8psi???
Boris - yup, i'll send it to you. Just give me your e-mail.
Thanks for all your help guys, you have all been very helpful.

Darren, were you asking me about power or Mark?
My email address is bob.cat at comcast.net
Let me know if you want a compare between the cars... I won't show it to anyone without your permission and I can email you the compare if you want.
Thanks,
Boris

Boris,
I was asking Mark since he has a 3.0L M3 engine with AA's stg1 gen3 kit, but feel free to chime in your numbers. The more the merrier.

I don't recall the exact numbers, but at ~5-5.5psi it was about ~303rwhp/303rwtq at 7psi it was 330rwhp/332rwtq and at 8psi it was 348rwhp/342rwtq. I would have to confirm these, but it's within a few rwhp.
I will be dynoing in better conditions up here... so we'll see what I get in better weather.

i've got 8, 36# injectors if you want them, pratically brand new. I had to upgraded to 55lb/min :devillook
