I have a 1999 528i and have removed the factory NAV screen and replaced with one of those Android Radio's. on My instrument cluster the date and time are not set. Is there a way to set them now that I no longer have the nav screen? I do have a inpa setup on my laptop but so far have only used it to diagnose and fix my "no speedo" abs module issue. Can it be done from software through the cable or is there a way to set from the instrument cluster or no way to set it?
Many thanks,
Roveer

no way. if it had BM and you replaced it that's pretty much it.

It shouldn't be that difficult to rig up a cable you could connect to the old Nav uniit while it's sitting on the seat or somewhere.. and set your clock. If you're lucky enough to live somewhere without DST it would be a one shot in a great while deal.

There's a way, involving adding the resler interface and using the iBus app.

I've still got all the NAV equipment and head unit. I guess I could reconnect and set. But a battery disconnect is going to lose it again. I thought I saw something on the web that showed a way to do it without the NAV unit. I'll keep searching and will post back. INPA doesn't have access to this?

If you do connect and reset, just get a OBD2 battery back up thingy for about $10 to use when disconnecting your battery. Though thinking about it, I've had mine disconnected for at least two days and the clock didn't need setting when I was done. Does anyone know if there us a back up battery and if it's in the NAV unit itself?
