Snotty......cut him some slack.
Haven’t we done the same for you a FEW times, lol?
Welcome to the forum xcrip.
Have you pulled up the carpet on the front pass side to see if that fuse box is corroded?

Get to know people on here, most are helpful, I help, but goof around too much some times. Don’t just expect to be spoonfed.
It could be your ignition switch, google E39 ignition switch issues/bimmerforums, should pull up some weird crap like you are having. In all the years I’ve owned E39’s, not once have I had this ignition issue, but quite a few others have had it. There is a way to test it, something to do with the sunvisors. Look it up. You said you checked the fuse? Was that in the glove box? There is a junction box under the carpet, right in front of the passenger seat. Pull the trim around the door frame, loosen up the passenger seat, if you pull the seat out, disconnect the battery, that way you don’t light up the airbag light, lift the carpet up, check for moisture. Check the white junction box, pop it open, see if the connections are clean, or corroded. If corroded, dry up the moisture with a shopvac, leave the carpet pulled up, place a fan to blow air at the wet area, place a dehumidifier in the back seat, close the doors, leave it on for a day. Then you need to clean all the terminals if they were corroded, which can set in within three days of getting wet. You also need to figure out how the water got in there, either the sunroof drain is clogged up with debris, and water overflowed off the sunroof cassette, or the most likely culprit, the doors vapor barrier popped loose, and a strong rain is all it takes to get water into that passenger floor. On the drivers side, underneath the carpet are a few modules, yaw sensors, and crap like that.

I did cut him some slack, just wanted him to think about not just getting spoonfed, but I did spoonfeed him, he seems alright.

Welcome to the forum. I've only been here a short time myself. Was in the E34 section before this one.. not sure if that means I'm moving on up.. or down.
