Wife scored an '05 John Cooper Works! Need a little help sorting it out...

It's a bit of a basket case and we're new to Mini's so could use some help.

I guess the first questions are...

1) It was made 8/04 and sold as 2005. Does make it an R50/52/32?

2) Being that JCW's didn't arrive until 2006 (as I understand it, according to realoem), does that make it not a JCW but an upgraded S?

3) What parts differences are there between a standard S and a JCW?

R53 was the supercharged model. You could buy the JCW parts from the dealer, even have them install everything. Later, the JCW package became a model. I don't know the exact time frames.
