My mechanic want to replace a leaking rack on my M3 since I need an outer tie rod. I trust my mechanic but will be selling the car in the near future to get an X1. If the rack does not leak enough to make a mess on the floor just how serious can this problem be? I know we want to take good care of our cars but I am selling soon and wonder if you could not just keep an eye on the PS fluid? I suppose the answer is that it is just not the right way to do things.
