Hey all, long time no posts…
Anyhow, my father has a 2009 335i sedan and the vehicle is in need of rear shocks. The problem I’m having is locating the correct set online for the vehicle.
Everything I’m seeing says “base”, “non-sport” or “sport” suspension.
He’s the original owner, bought the car new, however it’s been years and he does not recall if his has the sport suspension or not.
How do I tell or determine which suspension he has, so that I can purchase the correct REAR shocks to do the job? I asked him for the VIN and I tried running it through the online BMW VIN decoders, but damn if that’s helping me, nothing gives me any info as to how to determine what suspension is under it….
I only know the car has Navigation, Twin Turbo 6, Auto trans, sunroof, a variety of other features and the multi-spoke silver rims. LOL…. I even tried to input the VIN into some of the online BMW parts searches, but that’s not helping either as the returned results show all rear shocks for all models.
Please help me with any tips, old links on here or anything at all that will make my shock search and purchase much easier…
Also, what other recommended parts should be replaced with the E90 shock R&R? The last BMWs I owned myself were my prior 1995 M3 and a 318i convertible…so I’m not versed in the E90’s…
Thanks in advance!!
